Tibii School of Support
Pioneering Human Rights-Based Learning for the Disability Sector
We are excited to introduce Tibii School of Support, an innovative learning and educational space designed for support workers, service managers, and professionals in the disability sector. This initiative is being developed in partnership with B-HART, the accreditation and verification body for Human Rights Approaches in Practice.
Tibii School of Support is more than just a training platform—it’s a revolutionary space where innovation meets sector needs. It offers valuable resources tailored to the highest standards of Human Rights Approaches in Practice, ensuring that disability support professionals have access to cutting-edge knowledge and tools to enhance their impact.
Grounded in top-tier academic research and real-world application, this initiative is built on evidence-based models that have demonstrated outstanding outcomes. By bridging the gap between academic excellence and practical implementation, Tibii School of Support aims to transform practices at all levels of an organisation.
This work is currently in development, and we invite you to stay connected as we bring this vision to life—creating a space where learning, accreditation, and best practices empower professionals to drive meaningful change in disability support.
Tibii Practice
Redefining Disability Support Through Human Rights Approaches
Tibii is not just another disability service provider in Australia. Tibii is a movement—a new way of thinking about disability support that puts Human Rights Approaches at the centre of everything we do.
The Story Behind Tibii’s Vision
When Pouya Farbod, Tibii’s CEO, was completing his Master’s in Disability Policy and Practice, he came across the Human Rights Model of Disability. The more he learned, the more he realised that this model had the power to revolutionise disability services.
But there was a problem—there was no existing framework in Australia to fully implement this model in practice. Despite Australia’s commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), there was no provider truly using Human Rights Approaches at every level of their organisation.
That’s when Pouya made a decision: If no one was doing it, he would build it from the ground up.
With a team of heart-centred support workers, disability professionals, and sector leaders, Tibii was born—the first disability service provider in Australia to fully embed Human Rights Approaches into its everyday practice.
Tibii's Human Rights-Based Practice
Tibii isn’t just a service provider—we are a working example of what true human rights-based disability support looks like in practice.
-
From Leadership to the Frontline – Human Rights Approaches are embedded at every level of our organisation, from our management and leadership teams to frontline support workers.
-
A Culture of Inclusion – Disability is not seen as a deficit—it is a part of human diversity. This mindset shapes our entire company culture, ensuring that every person at Tibii, from staff to third-party stakeholders, understands and respects the human rights of people with disabilities—just as they expect their own human rights to be respected.
-
Empowerment, Not Just Support – At Tibii, we don’t just provide care; we empower. Our practice is about giving people control over their own lives, ensuring they are at the centre of every decision that affects them.
By taking this approach, Tibii has transformed the way disability support is delivered in Australia. We continue to push boundaries, ensuring that Human Rights Approaches are not just words on a policy document, but a living, breathing part of everyday support.
Tibii isn’t just different—it’s leading a new standard for disability services in Australia. And we are just getting started.
Emily S., Parent
"For nine years, my husband and I searched for a provider who could truly support our child the way we hoped. We kept changing providers desperately, hoping to find the right one. And then we found Tibii.
With Tibii, we finally saw what support should look like. They didn’t just provide services—they set a new standard. They included us in decisions, respected our expertise as parents, and worked together as a team to create the best outcomes.
The biggest change? Four of my child’s restrictive practices were removed—something we never thought possible. Today, we are relieved, happy, and hopeful again. Tibii didn’t just support our child; they supported our entire family."
James R., Participant
"I have changed many providers. They talked about me but never talked to me. They thought because I take time to speak, I don’t understand. But I do. I just need time.
Tibii is different. They respect me as a person. They don’t judge me. They help me speak up for my rights. They take me seriously.
Now, we do things together. Things I couldn’t do before. I feel strong. I feel heard. I feel like I belong."
Sarah J., Support Worker
"Before learning about the Human Rights Approach in Practice, I never truly understood how important it is to keep learning and growing in this field. Tibii changed my perspective completely. I started seeing my role as more than just providing support—I became a professional support worker who could truly make a difference.
One of the participants I work with had been trying to achieve his main NDIS goal for 12 years without success. But with Tibii’s approach, he reached it in just six months. Seeing his independence and quality of life improve so drastically made me realise that support work is not just about tasks—it’s about empowering people. This isn’t just a job anymore. It’s a responsibility, a privilege, and a way to transform lives."
